CNN Express and Ali Velshi visit the Wisconsin School of Business for three days.

Enrollment in business schools soared during the 2008-09 recession. Because I’m a news junkie I was aware that CNN host Ali Velshi was in the CNN Express bus criss-crossing the country. So, I worked with our videographer (who at the time was an A/V specialist in IT) to do a quick pitch video with new MBA students during orientation. We asked them questions like “Why did you decide to enter business school this fall?” and “What are your thoughts about the recession?” and “When you graduate how do you want to impact the world?” We made a final cut and I flipped it to Velshi’s producer who called me within an hour from the road in Iowa and asked if they could come set up shop for three days. All of my colleagues from across the school pitched in to make their visit a smashing success. Shown below are a few snippets from Velshi’s time on campus. He also interviewed our Dean at the time, along with the leaders of our MBA program and students.
